Magdalena has taught English as a Second Language to students from many different countries at all Primary and Secondary levels. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland and a CELTA for English language teaching. She has also completed a Teacher Preparation Programme (Elementary Education 1-6) at Moreland University, USA.
Intrinsic to the communicative approach, Magdalena focuses on developing learner-centred lessons and creating opportunities for the students to produce real and meaningful communication. She aims to help her students learn to communicate in English effectively and with confidence.
She believes that students learn successfully when they feel safe and included, and always tries to create a positive learning environment and adapt her lessons and teaching strategies to different skills and levels to be able to meet the needs of all her students. In her previous school, she was a SEND Champion and her role was to foster an inclusive teaching culture and support other teachers to have the confidence to address SEND.
Magdalena has got two daughters who are also excited to become part of the SJIIM community. When she is not working or learning to develop her teaching skills, Magdalena enjoys reading, practising yoga and swimming. She is a certified yoga teacher and an Advanced Open Water Diver.
