Luke was the founding Head of Music at SJIIM in 2016, establishing the High School Music Programme and Ensembles, as well as the Instrumental Music Programme across the whole school. He has been appointed as the High School Director of Arts, bringing passion and knowledge of our community together with experience working with Cirque du Soleil musicians, teaching in Special Interest Music Centres in Australia, as an Australian National Eisteddfod winner, and as a moderator of the South Australian Certificate of Education’s (SACE) music curriculum. He has a particular interest in developing the self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation of students, enabling every student to reach their potential and exceed their own expectations, and brings a great care for the students as evidenced by his appointment to Head of Year roles both at SJIIM and in Australia. He has a Bachelor of Music in Classical Percussion and a Graduate Diploma of Education from The University of Adelaide.
Luke is a coffee enthusiast and loves travelling with his wife and three children, reading and playing volleyball and basketball.
