Heather Smith

Heather Smith Position: Drama Subject Leader & Key Stage 3 English

Heather joined us from another international school in Malaysia where she taught Performing Arts, was Head of PSHE, a Safeguarding Leader, Learning Support specialist and a Boarding House Tutor. Prior to this she taught for six years in a British Sixth Form College in Nottingham. Heather achieved a First Class Honors Degree in Contemporary Theatre and Performance from Manchester Metropolitan University before completing her masters level PGDE in Post-Compulsory Education at Nottingham Trent University. Her educational ethos centres around developing the whole child, with a holistic approach which ensures their health, social and emotional needs are met whilst also inspiring young people to enrich their minds and develop a love of lifelong learning.

Outside of education, Heather’s main passions are playing sports, watching theatre and reading literature. She plays American Football, enjoys wall climbing and can often be found either at the theatre or curled up on the sofa with a book and her cats.
