SJIIM congratulates our Year 12 student and IBDP Scholar, Rachel Ooi, for her recent success in the 41st Annual SEA Forensics and Debate Tournament in ISKL. Rachel won Gold in the Original Oratory category and was overjoyed with her success, “I am a drama queen through and through, so it wasn’t short of dramatic when I cried after hearing that I won. My first brush with performing arts came about when I was thirteen and it was with this competition. I had mistaken the SEA Forensics then for a science fair but instead met with contestants from across Southeast Asia who congregated at the competition to achieve one thing – self-expression. Five years after waiting for a second shot at the SEA Forensics- I finally won and it was well worth the wait!”
