ANOTHER SET OF TOP AND WORLD-BEATING IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME 2023 RESULTS

We had another strong set of results this year, and we are incredibly proud of our class of 2023. Overall, this cohort has done extremely well, and I know you will join me in celebrating their success. The IBDP promised that the grade distribution would “return to pre-pandemic standards,” and so we expected a decrease to the scores we saw in 2020-2022 when provisions were put in place for Covid. I am pleased to say that our school average has actually increased from 2022 and rests at nearly 38 points, even as the global average has decreased by 1.7% at 30 points this year.

Key statistics arising from these results are:
  • A perfect score of 45 points, and two students earning 44 points
  • 38 points average score (compared to global average of 30.24 points)
  • 6.02 average points per subject (compared to global average of 4.8)
  • 32% earning 40 points or above (same as last year)

We know how hard our students have worked to achieve these results, and we are incredibly proud of their success. We are also grateful for our trusting parent community and our caring teachers who have worked tirelessly to support our students throughout the past two years. We wish our students well and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them at university and beyond.

Arjun Gunalan: 45 points Though the last 2 years at SJIIS have been brief, I have learnt many valuable lessons and made memories that will definitely last a lifetime over the course of my studies. My teachers have proven to be invaluable in the support they have provided to help me overcome any adversity I encountered during the IB, in addition to bridging the gap as I progress to tertiary education. I”ll certainly miss attending their lessons! Most importantly, I cannot understate how my studies have been enriched by all the friends I have made, and am incredibly grateful for the camaraderie we developed through braving the difficulties of the IB. SJIIS holds a special place in my heart, and I will miss studying here. Thank you for the lovely memories!

Sandra Ong Li Shan: 44 points SJIIS prioritizes holistic learning, teaching us not only to excel in academics, but in other areas as well, from sporting to service. With the core values of faith, service and communion, SJIIS quickly becomes more than just a school to its students. It becomes a place to nurture friendships; it becomes a place to call home.

Allison Yee Hui Xin: 44 points Being a student at SJIIS has not only enriched me academically through many memorable lessons and various projects, but also socially through our tightly knit Lasallian community. I have learned the importance of faith, service and a community that encourages individual growth through collective success. I have had some of the best memories in the past six years at SJIIS, and I will forever be grateful for the dedication and commitment of all my teachers. Having been a student at this school will be something I will always cherish!
