ANOTHER SET OF EXCELLENT IGCSE 2021 RESULTS!

Congratulations to our Year 11 cohort who achieved another set of excellent IGCSE results! 55% A* 76% A*/A 89% A*-B 95% A*-C

These results represent the hard work and dedication of students and staff over the last two years. Before and during the examination period, our students maintained great focus despite the uncertain situation around them. The results are a testament to the character of our students, a great number of which were founding students. Students from this cohort achieved well across the ability range, and we are delighted that many of these students are progressing onto our highly successful IBDP programme.

Results in all subjects were spectacular with particular highlights including 92% A*/A in Economics, 89% A*/A in Physics, 89% A*/A in History.

Whilst this is undoubtedly an incredibly talented cohort of 65 students, there are some notable individual performances. Three students, namely, Kyra Sarada Chellam, Tan Kwang Wei and Alden Teh all achieved 10A* – almost one-third of others achieved straight A*s and As!

Head of School, Madam Mak Lai Ying Frances commented, ” I am pleased with this cheerful and determined cohort of students. They were under a great deal of stress because of the pandemic and the uncertainties/SOPs that came with it. They remained steadfast in their trust that the school would do the best for them and they pressed on relentlessly in pursuit of the best grades that they were capable of. I am so very proud of them.”

Kyra Sarada Chellam, 10 A* “The IGCSEs have been the hardest thing I have had to do in my life and studying under Covid 19 conditions was extremely difficult. At times, there was just no motivation to study because life within the confines of your home just gets mundane. I would not have made it through the year without my family and God as my source of strength. I’m forever grateful to my fantastic friends and my supportive teachers for being there for me – not just for the past 2 years of my life, but for every day since I’ve walked through SJIIS’s gates.”

Tan Kwang Wei, 10A* “As a founding student since Year 7, I am very privileged to have had the opportunity to progress through the entire High School system here at SJIIS. I witnessed how the school flourished into a binding community where students are comfortable expressing themselves and continuously realize their potential. Despite the pandemic, teachers worked hard to deliver lessons without compromising on the quality. I am forever thankful to the school and its community.”

Alden Teh, 10A* “SJIIS provides an ideal and conducive environment to nurture students’ intellectual and emotional growth. The teachers have been extremely helpful in preparing us for our tertiary education and future roles in society.”
