Basariah joined us, in 2018, from Nexus International School Malaysia (NISM) where she was secondary teacher off The International Baccalaureate (IB) and The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for teaching Malay language as a first and foreign language. At her previous school, she worked closely with developing Malay as first language from Key Stage 3 to International Baccalaureate diploma level. She has taught Malay Language for secondary at various international schools and has with more than 23 years of experience in teaching Malay language and literature in Malaysia and also Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE) consultant in the Malay course since 2013. She holds a Degree in History and Malay Literature from The National University of Malaysia (UKM). She is very passionate in her career and her teaching objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary skills to take control of and become active participants in their own learning. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and baking as well gardening.
