We are thrilled to welcome Hamish, who is joining us from Tauranga, New Zealand. With 14 years of teaching experience at one of New Zealand’s top schools, Hamish has excelled in various leadership roles. As Dean of Students, he provided pastoral care and academic guidance to ensure students’ holistic development. As Numeracy Learning Lead, he enhanced the mathematics curriculum and supported both teachers and students in achieving excellence.
Hamish holds a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Teaching from Massey University. He is eager to bring his expertise to the Mathematics Department at SJIIS. He is committed to building strong, positive relationships with both students and their families, ensuring a collaborative and supportive learning journey for all. Hamish is enthusiastic about contributing to our school’s vibrant extracurricular programs. With extensive experience coaching Touch Rugby, Rugby 7s, and Basketball, Hamish looks forward to inspiring and developing our students’ athletic skills and teamwork.
Beyond his professional life, Hamish enjoys spending quality time with his family, cooking and barbecuing, fishing, and relaxing at the beach. His family is excited about relocating to Malaysia and immersing themselves in the vibrant culture and opportunities here. His two children are especially enthusiastic about joining their father at SJIIM. We are confident that Hamish will be a fantastic addition to our community.
